A photo taken during my morning walk with Tony outside the walls of the old city.

Path outside the Old City

I have just returned from Israel on assignment with Gov. Mike Huckabee again this year.  It was interesting being there during all the protest.  We never say any evidence of the protest while we where in country, we felt very safe.  Maybe safer than here in Chicago!

I will be posting photos from the trip over the course of the next week or so – some from Jerusalem, some with the governor, and some from around the country.  Enjoy.

New York Times Assignment

Check out Chris’ latest assignment for the New York Times.  And if anyone is interested, the condo was really beautiful, big and had a HUGE closet.  You just don’t get those here in Chicago.

We are proud to publish our best wedding, portrait and commercial photography for 2010.  The photographs are a mix of our all three of us, Bob, Chris and Jennifer, with some assistance thrown in for fun. This work comes from all over the world —  Israel to northern Michigan. And yes, in hour hometowns of Chicago, Little Rock and Baton Rouge.  Below is a sample click here to see the entire gallery.

Maya Toral and David Yuen braved the November elements to head down to Sox Park for outdoor photos.  Oh it was cold, but we persevered .  Then we all headed inside to Union Station and finally back to the Hotel Palomar for the nuptials and reception. It was a bit cold but a great time for everybody, especially since we where watching football on a phone.

Cassandra and Clay were very brave to host an outdoor October wedding.  Not to fear, the weather was perfect at the Wilder Mansion in Elmhurst.  Enjoy the photos!

2010 has been an exciting year at Ocken Photography, and as it winds to a close, we thank you for your business.  We are gearing up for new weddings, more portrait and continuing with our corporate clients. We look forward to you all being a part of the new year to come.

All of us here at Ocken Photography, we wish you all the best this Holiday Season and much happiness in the New Year.

Shah Wardle Wedding

Ocken Photography had a wonderful time with Cherishma and Chris at their downtown Chicago wedding.  The ceremony and reception was at the wonderfully photogenic Newberry Library, complete with it’s city park directly across the street.

Enjoy a peek.

Liza Dhamer Wedding

Liza Dhamer writes: “I wanted to thank you and Leigh for the fantastic job you guys did photographing our wedding.  We had a blast and the photos you took truly capture every detail.  I hope you guys had fun too!  While it was crazy windy and storm right on our heels… one of my favorite of the bunch is down on the beach!  You couldn’t plan the sky in that picture if you tried!  (This is my favorite, next to, of course, the photo of the backup mini-bus driver! haha)

Thank you again for all of your hard work.  You guys were nothing less than fabulous to work with… I just really am so ecstatic at how great you guys did and we will talk very highly about for a long time… until the next family wedding!  When we’ll see you again.”
