Feeling the (Bridal) Budget Pressure

Chicago Style Weddings caught up with Chris recently to talk about the pressures brides feel as they prepare for their weddings. You can find the article in the latest issue of the magazine on page 381 (383 in the digital version), but here’s a highlight from Chris on the pressure of creating (and sticking to) a photography budget. “These images are really one of the few things you get to keep after the wedding. Don’t worry about the extra $500 — hire the photographer you feel is going to do the best job for you.”

All the Ocken siblings stand by that advice. (And it’s a big moment when they all agree, people!) Photographs are forever. Click here to see if your wedding date is open.

Chicago’s new mayor

Chris has had a busy couple of weeks balancing photos of the new mayor of Chicago Rahm Emanuel, the president when he has been in town, and multiple cabinet members, with his busy portrait and wedding schedule.  But not to worry, he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Visit to Israel – again

I have just returned from Israel on assignment with Gov. Mike Huckabee again this year.  It was interesting being there during all the protest.  We never say any evidence of the protest while we where in country, we felt very safe.  Maybe safer than here in Chicago!

I will be posting photos from the trip over the course of the next week or so – some from Jerusalem, some with the governor, and some from around the country.  Enjoy.
