The Crescent City Brewhouse

527 Decatur Street in New Orleans’ French Quarter

This portfolio-based exhibition, curated by Edward Hebert, will feature works by eight New Orleans Photo Alliance members: Renee Allie, Michelle Icahn, David Rae Morris, Owen Murphy, Jennifer Shaw, Jenn Ocken, Antonio Henriquez and Jennifer Zdon.

“In curating this exhibition I chose artists based on the strength of their portfolios, looking for compelling bodies of work that would stand on their own and also hang well together within the context of a French Quarter restaurant,” said curator Edward Hébert.  “This group exemplifies different approaches to photography. The photographs range from a documentary perspective to work that is more aesthetic in nature.”

CURRENTS 2009 will be on exhibit from Dec 1, 2009 through Jan 3, 2010 at the Crescent City Brewhouse during the fourth annual PhotoNOLA festival.

Jumping for fall portraits in Arkansas

The weather is great and it’s time for fall portraits. Watch for holiday portrait posts soon.

This was taken of Elizabeth Bailey. She has a big bother, August, and has just gotten a new dog, Molly. Her brother was actually nice to her for the photo session, which might be why she is jumping for joy!

Mother of the groom loves her album

In a letter to Marie Ross of Ocken Photography from Marie Caravalhido (mother of a Joe Caravalhido).

Marie, Please go ahead with the album as you sent it to me. Can’t see how I could improve on it. I love the way you laid out Brittany and Joseph’s Wedding Day Story. Although the album you put together is beautiful, with all of the pictures I’m looking to put into it I would end up with a book too heavy to lift so I went ahead and ordered pictures I just felt I couldn’t live without. Thank you so much for your help. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the creativity, talent and patiance both you and Jenn displayed during our selection process. Be well and I hope to see you soon. (Can you imagine what it will be like when grandchildren come)
