Bob took a trip to Baton Rouge, LA (get it?) to photograph Rachel Robert and Chase Menard’s wedding at an amazing church. The St. Joseph Cathedral was originally constructed in 1789, and it was a pleasure to document a wedding in such a glorious structure. Their reception was held at the equally beautiful Old Governor’s Mansion, and Rachel made a stunningly beautiful bride.
Ocken Photography has been voted one of Chicago’s best wedding photographers (in the top 5%!) for 2008 by Project Wedding. We are honored by this award and thankful for the votes.

Check out Reagan Moffitt in our latest ad in Inviting Arkansas magazine. Reagan never stopped smiling throughout our entire shoot, and it was quite contagious. Because of her, the photographs are guaranteed to make you smile — or in this case laugh.
From Shannon in an email to Jenn:
“I can’t thank you and Bob enough for working with us so quickly on this. We love the outcome of both the photo shoot and the Save the Date cards more than we could have imagined. You two are brilliant.”
Noah and Shannon are getting married in New Orleans. Jennifer is shooting the wedding and Bob shot the engagement session in Little Rock, where the couple lives. Bob said he used many of the couples ideas in the portraits session, making it a very personal group of photographs. Shannon is going to be a beautiful bride. Noah is a lucky man!

Lauren Smith and Scott Hengens had a beautiful, small ceremony at the Houmas House for just their family. Even though it was raining, we had a great time!
“Thank you so much for the time and energy you gave to me and Scott on Saturday,” says the bride. “You were unbelievable. You didn’t let the rain stop you, and you kept such a positive attitude! I have had so many people tell me what a great job you did and what a wonderful person you were to work with. I am so excited to see the pictures because I know they are going to be beautiful. I cannot thank you enough.”
Leger’s Catering provided the food for OP Baton Rouge’s opening event in September 2008, and we are so happy to be working with them again! These photos will be used to help them launch their new website.
It was hard to only look at the food while it was being photographed, but we were able to sample everything at the end of the night — and it was well worth the wait!
Competitive Cyclist is one of Bob’s favorite bicycle stores. It’s a 25,000 sf. space full of very fine bikes to ride. Located in North Little Rock, Arkansas, it’s a biker’s dream home. Photo by Bob Ocken
