Professional + Personal = Perfect Wedding Day Photos
Bob was absolutely wonderful to work with. He’s very personable and wants to try and get to know the bride and groom and cater to your style. As a bride without much knowledge about the photography business and what “shots” I wanted, he knew how to capture it all and his suggestions were great. Overall, I was well pleased with the selection of proofs from the bridal portraits as well as the wedding day. He has a great demeanor and sense of humor that kept everyone light, yet also exerted initiative to keep things moving when taking group shots. With all the stress that can come with the wedding day, I knew that I didn’t have to worry about the photographer (being on time, getting the right shots, etc) which was a huge relief! I really liked that on the day of the wedding he took photos that told a story rather than still, posed pictures. The classic wedding photos of course were posed, but I loved the way he captured, smiles and body language, etc. when you weren’t looking. While the price was a bit out of our range, we understand why now (such great shots!) and realize that splurging on a photographer was totally worth it. I would definitely recommend Ocken Photography to anyone looking for a wedding photographer, I now understand why some call him “one of the best in the business.”
Joanna and Christoper had their wedding at the Brookfield Zoo and they seemed to look a bit too tasty to the Lion. Thank goodness for the thick glass between them! Scary.
Congratulations to Jordan and Ben Cargill, who where married at the Galloway Chapel in Ferndale, Arkansas on October 20. They live in Dallas and we are so happy they choose Ocken Photography to celebrate with them and a very small collection of friends and family. We are honored to be a part of their day. Enjoy!
Bob Ocken loves to shoot brides! And nobody photographs brides like he does. Ocken Photography only creates a handful of these caliber portraits a year, why not make your portrait one of them? Bob’s clientele are some the best and most exclusive brides in Arkansas and around the country. Bob says, ” I love pushing the boundaries of my creativity and to me this portrait feels like it was shot in the Caribbeans. But it was shot using only one flash in very exotic backyard in central Arkansas, no flight necessary.” Enjoy!
Check out the brand new redesigned Ordu Gold time trial bike. With new ergonomic and aerodynamic upgrades you can go as fast as it looks. Bob and Ocken Photography have been working with Orbea for close to a year now. “I have one of the best jobs ever!” — Enjoy!

It’s very funny, I shot a photograph of a Rhino at the Little Rock, Arkansas Zoo in 1996 when I was working or the Associated Press. I keep seeing that photo all over the place, I just saw it in the Houston Chronical. I have seen it in papers in Europe. I seemed to be haunted by a photo o a rhino, and that’s a good thing! What do you think?
Bob took a group of kids from CARTI in Arkansas to visit the great city of Chicago. We toured the cities many museums and sites, shop and had wonderful food and a great time. This photograph is the view outside our hotel on State Street. Photo by Bob Ocken
We are featured in the new Arkansas Bride magazine. Check out our photograph in the “Photographer Favorite” section. Guess which photo Bob took? Hint – it’s the classic and timeless one. We think it’s very “Town and Country”.
Erin Foster (owner of A Stem Above) and Tony Olszewski tied the knot in Chicago in May 2008, and it was an awesome celebration from the beginning to end. The priest was a life-long friend and made the ceremony something to remember. The speeches brought tears to everyone’s eyes—especially the bride and groom! The cake was beautiful, and Erin and her team from A Stem Above rocked the house on the reception decor. It felt like there were 10,000 candles at the reception, and the flowers gave such life to the space, which was part of the old Marshall Field’s building downtown.
Working with Erin on weddings for the past few years has been a treat, and to be a part of her day was a special honor. Erin and Tony, we wish you all the best in all your adventures together as husband and wife!
